Psychotherapy, often referred to as "therapy", is a kind of talking therapy which is meant to help people resolve various symptoms and understand themselves better. There are many kinds of psychotherapy.
Generally, I come from the perspective of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, but I offer a mixture of types according to what is most helpful to a particular patient. This includes psychoanalytic, eclectic, supportive, individual, and family therapy. For children under 10 years old, I offer play therapy since children usually communicate more through their play than through their words. For adults and adolescents I also offer psychoanalysis.
There are several common types of psychotherapy that I do not offer: marital therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).
